Technical Specification for water blocking tape for cable and optical cable
1 Scope
This specification specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of waterproof tape materials for cables and optical cables (hereinafter referred to as water blocking tapes).

4 technical requirements
4.1 appearance
The water blocking Belt should have uniform fiber distribution, smooth surface, no wrinkles, creases and abrasion, no crack, no delamination, no powder material falling off at the width edge. After being coiled, it should be tightly wound and the disk surface should be smooth.
4.2 thickness, unit weight, expansion rate and expansion height

4.5 joint requirements of waterstop
There should be no joint for the water stop belt with coil length of 500m and below, and one joint is allowed when it is more than 500m. The thickness of the joint shall not exceed 1.5 times of the original thickness, and the breaking strength shall not be less than 80% of the original index. The performance of adhesive tape for joint shall be consistent with that of base material of waterstop, and shall be clearly marked.

6 inspection rules
6.1 inspection methods and requirements
6.1.1 the water stop belts produced by qualified suppliers (returned without quality problems within one year) shall be sampled and inspected at intervals.
6.1.2 the water stoppers supplied by the new manufacturer shall be inspected in each batch, and those qualified in five consecutive sampling shall be transferred to sampling inspection in alternate batches.
6.1.3 if the water stop belt of the designated manufacturer is inspected once, if it is unqualified, it shall be inspected according to the provisions of the supply materials.
6.1.4 for each batch of water stoppers, the quality assurance certificate or test report of the supplier's materials shall be attached.
6.1.5 sampling method: take 2 rolls or more for each specification.
6.2 test items
6.2.1 the inspection items are thickness, tensile strength and elongation at break.
6.2.2 the performance that cannot be tested shall be accepted according to the manufacturer's test report or warranty.
7 packing
The products shall be packed in trays with one plastic bag for each plate, and several plates shall be packed in large plastic bags, and then cartons with suitable diameter of water blocking belt shall be provided with product quality certificate.
8 mark
Each plate of product shall be marked with product name, code, specification, net weight, plate length, product batch number, date of manufacture, standard number and factory name, etc., as well as other marks such as "moisture proof and heat proof".
9 annex
The water blocking belt shall be attached with product certificate and quality assurance certificate when delivery.
10 transportation
The product should avoid moisture and mechanical damage, keep clean, dry, free from pollution, and complete packaging.
11 storage
It should be stored in a dry, clean and ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight. The storage period is 12 months from the date of manufacture. If the time limit is exceeded, it should be inspected again according to the standard. After passing the inspection, it can still be used.
