Five characteristics of XLPE insulated cable
XLPE insulated cables are used for fixed laying on power transmission and power distribution lines with rated voltage of 35kV and below. There are many advantages of XLPE insulated cable. 1. Operating temperature: the maximum rated operating temperature of cable conductor is 90 ℃.
2. Overload temperature: the maximum temperature of short-time overload of cable shall not exceed 130 ℃.
3. Short circuit temperature: when the cable is short circuited, the maximum temperature shall not exceed 250 ℃. (the maximum duration shall not exceed 5 seconds).
4. Laying temperature: the cable laying temperature shall not be lower than 0 ℃. When laying below 0 ℃, it must be heated in advance.
5. Bending radius: allowable bending radius of single core cable: 20 (actual outer diameter of cable + actual outer diameter of cable conductor) ± 5%.
