Effect of water on performance of crosslinked power cable
With the continuous development of market economy, the competition is becoming more and more fierce. The competition between enterprises is the competition of product quality and service in the final analysis. As we all know, product quality is the life of enterprises. Good product quality will make enterprises invincible in the tide of market competition and is the source power of sustainable development of enterprises. Medium and high voltage XLPE insulated cable (hereinafter referred to as XLPE power cable) is the leading product of our company, and its quality level will directly affect the success or failure of our company in the market competition.
Since the establishment of the company, through the joint efforts of all employees, the quality of cross-linked power cables in our company is at a high level. This paper mainly discusses the harm of water inflow to cross-linked power cables. The water inflow of cross-linked power cable is mainly divided into conductor water inflow and sheath water inflow (including internal protection). Water or moisture can hydrolyze the polymer materials used in the cable and reduce the strength and flexibility of the materials. The water is adsorbed, absorbed and diffused by the polymer, which can seriously deteriorate the electrical energy and reduce the surface resistance, volume resistance and breakdown field strength, Increase the tangent of capacitance and dielectric loss angle; After the cable enters the water, under the action of electric field, the product will undergo water tree aging. The higher the humidity, the higher the temperature, the higher the voltage, and the more ions in the water, the faster the water tree will develop; All of the above will shorten the service life of the product, and in serious cases, the product will break down in a short time.
The water inflow of cross-linked power cable in the production process is mainly concentrated in two processes: cross-linking process and sheath process. In the production process of the crosslinking process, the water blocking joint of the cable is not handled well, which will lead to the water ingress into the crosslinked insulating core. Once the water or moisture enters the insulating core, it is difficult to deal with it. The water ingress crosslinked core can only be cut off, resulting in material waste, increased cost and even delay in the delivery of the cable; In the production process of sheath process, due to the operator's weak sense of responsibility or misoperation, the cable head falls into the water tank during traction, or the cable fails to control the thickness and eccentricity of the inner and outer sheath of the cable during production, resulting in water entering the cable after the sheath is broken. If water enters the head, the water entering the cable at the head can only be cut off, affecting the delivery meters of the cable; For example, it is difficult to handle and dry the middle of the cable due to the broken sheath and water inflow, that is, it is difficult to blow it all with a dryer. Once the cable is delivered, the water inflow of the cable becomes a potential hidden danger affecting the safe operation of the cable in the long-term operation process, * * * may eventually lead to cable breakdown or return, and the consequences are very serious. In addition, water will enter the cable during packaging, storage and transportation. Once the cable head is not sealed or the sheath of the cable is damaged during storage and transportation, water will enter the cable end, which is difficult for customers to accept.
We have understood the impact of water ingress of cross-linked power cables on product quality. How to avoid water ingress of cables is in front of us, which requires each of our employees to strictly control, strengthen their sense of responsibility, improve their own operation level, strictly implement various operation procedures and methods, strive to eliminate the quality problems of water ingress of cables and improve the quality of products, Lay a solid foundation for improving the company's market share.
