Common sense of the distinction between wire and cable
Wire is generally used for conducting metal wire carrying current. There are various forms such as solid, twisted or foil woven. According to the insulation condition, it is divided into bare wire and insulated wire. A cable is an insulated conductor composed of one or more mutually insulated conductive cores placed in a sealed sheath. A protective covering layer can be added outside for transmitting, distributing electric energy or transmitting electric signals. The main difference between it and ordinary wires is that the cable size is large and the structure is complex. The difference between wires and cables is that the size of wires is generally small and the structure is relatively simple, but sometimes cables are classified as wires in a broad sense.
Simply put, wires have only insulating layer, while cables have insulating layer and sheath layer.
Wires are generally single and can be combined at will. For example, for general lamps, we use two single wires and sockets, and we use three single wires. Therefore, it is better to calculate the length of a single wire if the length is generally calculated.
Due to the existence of sheath layer, the number of cables can not be combined at will. If there are 5 cables, there are 5 insulated wires in the sheath, which are finished products, so the length is calculated directly.
Nhvv is the cable and does not need to be multiplied by 5. NH means fire resistance.
The wire is composed of one or several soft wires, which are covered with a light and soft protective layer; The cable is composed of one or several insulated conductors, which are covered with a tough outer layer made of metal or rubber.
Cables and wires are generally composed of three parts: core wire, insulating sheath and protective sheath.
The characteristics of common cables are as follows:
CEF - ethylene propylene rubber insulated neoprene sheathed, marine flame retardant power cable.
CVV - PVC insulated, PVC sheathed marine flame retardant power cable.
BV, BX, RV and RVV series wires are often used for oxygen cabin wires, including:
Bv - copper core PVC insulated wire, with long-term allowable temperature of 65 ℃, * * * low temperature of - 15 ℃, working voltage of AC 500V and DC 1000V, which can be fixed indoors and outdoors, and can be laid in open or dark.
BX - copper core rubber insulated wire, * * * high service temperature 65 ℃, applied indoors.
RV - PVC insulated single core flexible wire, * * * high service temperature 65 ℃, * * * low service temperature - 15 ℃, working voltage AC 250V, DC 500V, used as internal wiring of instruments and equipment.
RVV - copper core PVC insulated and sheathed flexible wire, with allowable long-term working temperature of 105 ℃, working voltage of AC 500V and DC 1000V. It is used in wet, high mechanical protection requirements, frequent movement and bending.

2. Meaning of specification representation
The specification is expressed by the number of cores, nominal section and voltage level
① Specification representation of single core branch cable: number of cables in the same circuit * (1 * nominal section), 0.6/1kv,
For example: 4 * (1 * 185) + 1 * 95 0.6/1kv
② Specification representation of multi-core stranded branch cable: number of cables in the same circuit * nominal section, 0.6/1kv,
For example: 4 * * 185 + 1 * 95 0.6/1kv
③ Specification representation of multi-core same sheath branch cable: number of cable cores × Nominal section - t, e.g. 4 × 25-T
3. Complete model specification representation
Because branch cables include trunk cables and branch cables. Moreover, their specification structures are different, so there are two expression methods:
① Represent the trunk cable and branch cable respectively,
For example: trunk cable: fd-yjv-4 * (1 * 185) + 1 * 95 0.6/1kv
Branch cable: fd-yjv-4 * (1 * 25) + 1 * 16 0.6/1kv
This method is particularly concise in design and can easily show the different specifications of branch lines
② Show the trunk cable and branch cable together, such as fd-yjv-4 * (1 * 185 / 25) + 1 * 95 / 16 0.6/1kv
This method is intuitive, but * * * is limited to the case where the branch cable is of the same specification, and cannot represent different specifications of the branch:
Since the branch cable is mainly due to the 1kV low-voltage distribution system, its rated voltage of 0.6/1kv can be omitted in the design and marking.
